Nannette Smelko From the holiday party she coordinates for foster children at the Berea Children's Home to her regard for the environment, Nannette is always taking an extra leap to make this world a better place. She generously gives her time and leads by example no matter what she does. She is an inspiration to others and always has a warm smile and helpful attitude with everyone she comes in contact with. At MCPc, Inc. Nannette is in charge of the "Fun Friday" program where she organizes an event every other Friday to improve company morale. She's organized events like "crazy hat day" and "executive car washes" - but Fun Friday doesn't just take place within MCPc. Nannette organizes events outside of the work day that help others. She involves her high school children and personally gives her time because she sees the big picture. You might call it x-ray vision, but Nannette just knows that giving is better than receiving. Nannette also has a green thumb - she has single-handedly rekindled MCPc's recycling program. From pop cans to paper she is a champion for environmentally-friendly consumption and reuse of recyclables. Like many people, Nannette could just come in every day and "do her job". However, she takes initiative, cares about others, and genuinely works to improve the lives of everyone around her. Nannette is a true ERC Hero.
